*Warning*
This is a completely uneducated, knee-jerk opinion I am about to express as all I did was read the article.
But I can't help but say, "What???" I haven't really jumped into the general stem-cell debate just b/c I haven't given it the time or thought that having an well-founded opinion would require.
But this just seems. . . creepy. I'm sure the scientists have reasons why it's not really as creepy as it sounds. . . but. . . this is kinda what comes to mind: :-p

I love that they specified that these hybrids are not allowed to be implanted or carried to term. That would add a whole new dimension to those crazy "pregnancy dreams" women have about birthing their child to find out it's a cat/horse/pig/etc.

It is kind of a weird thought. I'm interested to learn more about the particulars of the process, because the ethical arguments about this being an abuse to human dignity don't really seem to apply. Even if human cells are being used, if the result is not a 23 chromosome living being then it's not really human.
