In my major, a C is "failing" technically and if you get one, you have to go through a lot of paperwork and additional paper-writing to prove you deserve to not take the class again. Most people are expected to get A's, though B's are acceptable. I say that so you have perspective so you don't think my major works on the full A --> D or F.
I just found out I got my first B since starting grad. school. It was bound to happen at some point and though, after working so hard, part of me would have liked to have more to show for it, I honestly couldn't give a rat's rear. I'm done. . . or almost anyways.
