I would like to buy a damburger!

So this semester I will be teaming up with another graduate clinician for a fluency (stuttering) client for one of my assignments. My other client will be an accent modification client. Obviously, can't give details, but I think it's going to be a really good experience. My supervisor referenced this video today in our meeting (I like that this clip references that this was the "best speech coach" he could find). :-p

It got me thinking. Scenes like this and the movie My Fair Lady are really most people's only experience with the idea of accent modification and what it entails (except if you're an international student trying to pass exams so that you can teach at the university). It'll be fun to delve more into what it really means to provide the wide range of therapy goals listed under "communication effectiveness" for these clients.
