Dog-doo brown.

"It's winter. Plus it’s February, so it’s the worst bit of winter. The sky is cloudy and the leaves are gone and the only colors left are lead-gray and dog-doo-brown."

So true. I'm ready for spring. . . now would be good.

Florida is seeming less and less tacky right about now and more and more like a good place to live. :-p

The common response I've gotten from people this winter when they ask me where I'm from:
"Wait, you lived there. . . and you decided to come here??"

Florida? Tacky!?! Never! [Note: sarcasm]. By the way, it was 78 degrees yesterday. Just thought I'd rub it in. Feel free to return the favor come August when it's 97 degrees with 90% humidity down here. Or even in September/October when it's still 97 degrees down here with 90% humidity.

It's not all bad... Yesterday it was quite sunny and the wind wasn't to bad so the cold was bearable making the air crisp and refreshing.

I think living in Illinois is more a lesson in optimism ;-) (Funny statement coming from me, generally thought to be a pessimist)

That said, I'm ready for warm Spring days and cool Summer nights too. I'm sure I'll appreciate them that much more when we get them though.

Very true, Nick. I hope the post didn't come across too negatively. I'm more stating it with little actually negative emotion attached. I've actually not been TOO bummed about Feb, more just ready for it to be over and eagerly anticipating April. :-p

And yes, yesterday was pretty great. I was amazed I could be out in 26 degree weather without a jacket just b/c the sun was shining and the wind had died down.

Thanks for keeping my complaining (even if it wasn't too bitter) in check. :)
